Micropoint
Dirty Vinyl

Listening notes

Micropoint's "Dirty Vinyl," released in 1997 on B.E.A.S.T. Records (catalog number B.E.A.S.T. 002), is a four-track vinyl record catalogued under the electronic and hardcore genres. The release sits early in the B.E.A.S.T. Records catalog, its catalog number indicating it was only the second release on the label.

The record's two sides carry distinct labels. The A-side is designated "This Side" and contains "Dirty Vinyl" at A1 and "Human Freak Box" at A2. The B-side is labeled "Smart Side" and presents "Metal Head" at B1 followed by "Schizophrenic Park" at B2. The asymmetry in the side names — one called "This Side," the other "Smart Side" — is a detail worth noting for collectors attempting to orient themselves when identifying pressings, as the naming convention departs from purely functional labeling.

No track durations are documented in the available release data, which limits what can be said about the record's overall runtime or the length of individual cuts. Similarly, personnel credits, recording information, and matrix or runout data are not part of the verified facts available here and cannot be addressed in this draft.

What the catalog data does confirm is a concise, self-contained release: four tracks, a single pressing format, one label, one year, and an artist — Micropoint — operating within a corner of the electronic music landscape where hardcore subgenres were a significant presence in the mid-to-late 1990s. The record's title, shared with the lead A-side track, gives the release a degree of internal coherence that is at least worth flagging for any deeper editorial treatment.
