Micropoint
Dirty Vinyl

Listening notes

Micropoint's *Dirty Vinyl*, released in 1995 on B.E.A.S.T. Records, carries the catalog number BEAST 002, marking it as an early entry in that label's output. Falling under the electronic and hardcore genres, the record presents four tracks across two sides.

The A side is labeled "This Side" and opens with the title track, "Dirty Vinyl," at position A1, followed by "Human Freak Box" at A2. The B side carries the designation "Smart Side" — a contrast to the A side's self-deprecating label — and contains "Metal Head" at B1 and "Schizophrenic Park" at B2. The juxtaposition of the two side names is one of the more immediately readable details about the release, suggesting a self-aware sense of presentation, though what that presentation meant in context is a question the record itself leaves open.

Micropoint is a French artist associated with the harder end of the electronic music spectrum, and *Dirty Vinyl* sits within a period when that edge of European electronic music was taking shape through small, specialized labels. B.E.A.S.T. Records, as a label, is documented as the imprint behind this release, with BEAST 002 indicating that *Dirty Vinyl* was among the second releases to appear under that name.

No track durations are documented in the verified information available here, and personnel, pressing details, and recording background are similarly unconfirmed at this stage. Those details, along with any information about the label's broader history or Micropoint's discography in relation to this release, would benefit from additional verification before publication.
