Microtrauma
Vinyl Selection

Listening notes

Microtrauma's "Vinyl Selection" arrived in 2012 on Traum Schallplatten, the Cologne-based electronic music label, catalogued as TRAUM V151. The release sits within the electronic and tech house genres, presenting four tracks across two sides of vinyl.

Side A opens with "Circulate," followed by "Blütenstaub," a German word translating loosely to pollen or flower dust. Side B carries "Nordlicht," another German-language title meaning northern lights, and closes with "Contrast (Max Cooper Rmx)," a remix contribution from Max Cooper.

The presence of a Max Cooper remix is a concrete point of interest for those cataloguing this release. Cooper, an artist and producer known for working within electronic music, contributes the sole remix on the record, occupying the final position on the B side. The remaining three tracks are presented without remix credits, attributed to Microtrauma in their original form.

Traum Schallplatten has operated as an outlet for electronic music across various formats, and TRAUM V151 represents one entry in their numbered catalogue sequence. The use of German-language track titles for two of the four cuts — "Blütenstaub" and "Nordlicht" — is a factual characteristic of the release worth noting for catalogue purposes.
