Muttley
Architect

Listening notes

Muttley's Architect arrived on Dubs Galore in 2019, issued as catalog number DOR005. The release is a vinyl single presenting two versions of the same track across its two sides, both operating within the dubstep and electronic genres.

The A-side carries Architect in a version designated the 2010 Mix, a title that indicates the material predates this release by roughly nine years. The B-side presents the Architect Quasar Remix, credited to a remixer working under the name Quasar. No durations are listed for either track.

As a single-track-per-side format on a dedicated dubstep imprint, the release fits a pattern common to the genre's vinyl culture, where labels have frequently used the format to deliver focused, floor-oriented material. Dubs Galore's catalog number sequence places DOR005 early in the label's output, suggesting this was among its first handful of releases, though the full scope of that catalog is not accounted for here.

The pairing of a dated mix alongside a contemporary remix on a release issued in 2019 points to an effort to revisit earlier material, with the 2010 Mix designation being the primary evidence of that timeline. Beyond what the label and catalog data confirm, the circumstances surrounding the original recording or the commission of the Quasar Remix are not documented in the available information.
