Nat King Cole
Greatest Hits LP 12" Colored Vinyl Record

Listening notes

Seagull Jazz Records issued this Nat King Cole greatest hits compilation on colored vinyl in 2025 under catalog number SJ 6846. The 12-inch LP carries a Jazz genre designation and spreads sixteen tracks across two sides, running just under forty-seven minutes in total.

Side A opens with "Unforgettable" at three minutes and twenty-seven seconds and moves through "(Get Your Kicks On) Route 66," "Orange Colored Sky," "(I Love You) For Sentimental Reasons," "Autumn Leaves," "O Come All Ye Faithful (Adeste Fideles)," "Nature Boy," and "Smile." The sequencing places two holiday selections on the record, with "O Come All Ye Faithful" appearing mid-way through Side A and "The Christmas Song" closing out Side B. That distribution across both sides, rather than grouping the seasonal material together, is a notable structural choice for anyone programming listening sessions around a particular occasion.

Side B opens with "When I Fall in Love" and continues through "Stardust," "Pretend," "The Very Thought of You," "Quizas, Quizas, Quizas," "Mona Lisa," "The Christmas Song," and closes with "Let There Be Love." The longest individual track on the release is "The Very Thought of You" at three minutes and forty-nine seconds, while "O Come All Ye Faithful" is the shortest at two minutes and twenty-nine seconds.

At sixteen tracks, the compilation touches a range of material associated with Cole across his recording career, from ballads to mid-tempo numbers. Prospective buyers should note that Seagull Jazz Records is the issuing label on this 2025 release, and anyone researching licensing, source masters, or pressing origin would need to verify those details independently, as they are not reflected in the available catalog data.
