Natural Rhythm
Vinyl Classics One

Listening notes

Natural Rhythm's *Vinyl Classics One*, released in 2014 on the artist's own Natural Rhythm Music imprint under catalog number NRMLP01, is a ten-track digital compilation falling within the electronic and house genres. Despite its title invoking vinyl, the release was issued in file format.

The collection spans just over 82 minutes of total running time across its ten tracks. The opening cut, "Jive (Original Jive)," is the longest at 11 minutes and 48 seconds, while the closing stretch of the tracklist settles into a more consistent range, with most individual tracks running between seven and eight minutes. "Give You Love" is the second longest inclusion at 10 minutes and 14 seconds. The remaining eight tracks fall between 7:11 and 7:55, a uniformity that gives the compilation a measured, unhurried pacing on paper.

Track titles such as "Chicago Nights," "Instant Salsa," "Smoldering Island," and "Soul On Fire" suggest a range of thematic reference points, though what those references amount to sonically is not something this entry can speak to with verified information. Similarly, "Pulse Nine (Sleazy Motel Mix)" carries a mix credit in its title, indicating it is an alternate version of a track called "Pulse Nine," though the origin release of that track is not confirmed here.

The self-released nature of the record, appearing on Natural Rhythm Music with a straightforward catalog designation, points to an independent operation. The title's framing as the first in a potential series — "Classics One" — may imply subsequent volumes were planned or released, though no further detail is available to confirm that here.
