Nick Holder
Deep Experiments Vol. 2

Listening notes

Nick Holder's Deep Experiments Vol. 2 is a two-track vinyl release issued in 2020 on DNH Records (2), carrying the catalog number DNH-015. The record falls within the deep house and electronic genres and presents one track per side: "Phreaky Phunky" on the A-side and "Ambiessence" on the B-side.

The release marks the second installment in Holder's Deep Experiments series, with the DNH Records (2) imprint serving as its home. The catalog number DNH-015 places it within a broader sequence of releases on that label, suggesting an ongoing relationship between the artist and the imprint. As a vinyl-format release, it follows a format long associated with deep house as a genre, where the medium has historically served as a primary vehicle for distribution, though no specific claims about this release's reception or reach can be drawn from the available information.

The two track titles offer some surface-level contrast. "Phreaky Phunky" carries a spelling that nods to phonetic playfulness common in certain corners of electronic music, while "Ambiessence" appears to blend the words ambient and essence, a construction that may speak loosely to the character Holder intended for the B-side, though this remains interpretive. No durations are available for either track.

DNH Records (2) is the label credited with this release, and the parenthetical distinction in the label name indicates it is cataloged separately from another entity of a similar name, a detail relevant to discographers and collectors seeking accurate attribution.

Deep Experiments Vol. 2 stands as a documented entry in Nick Holder's 2020 output, and its details are presented here as a reference point for those tracing the artist's discography or the DNH Records (2) catalog.
