Nummer
Second Sight

Listening notes

Nummer's *Second Sight*, released in 2017 on Going Good (catalog number GOOD10), is a double-LP spanning eleven tracks across four sides. The record sits at the intersection of several electronic subgenres — ambient, breakbeat, deep house, leftfield, and techno among them — a breadth that is reflected in the tracklist's range of running times and, to some degree, its titles.

The A-side opens with "Liège Trinité," the longest track on the first half of the record at 8:12, followed by "La Voix Du Nord" at 6:31. The side closes with "Liège Outro," a comparatively brief 2:07 piece that functions, as its name suggests, as a transitional moment. The B-side offers "Boulangerie Des 90s" at 5:27 before arriving at the title track, "Second Sight," which at 9:55 is the longest single piece on the release.

The C-side begins with "Hypnose (Dub Mix)," at 2:34 the shortest track on the record, before moving into "Lazer Dance" (5:45) and "L'Amour À L'Est" (7:26). The final side closes out the album with "Last Ride" (6:32), "Hoise!" (6:05), and "Endless Rivers" (6:29), the last of which brings the runtime to a conclusion at a length consistent with much of the record's material.

The French-language track titles — "Liège Trinité," "La Voix Du Nord," "Boulangerie Des 90s," "L'Amour À L'Est" — are a recurring feature, though what they signify about the work's themes or origins is not something this entry can address without additional verified information. Going Good, the releasing label, carries the catalog designation GOOD10, placing this as the tenth release in that sequence.
