Origin Unknown
Eastern Promise E.P.

Listening notes

Origin Unknown's Eastern Promise E.P. was released in 2020 on Liftin' Spirit Records under catalog number ADMM58. The release is a four-track vinyl EP spanning the breakbeat, electronic, and hardcore genres.

The record is structured across two sides. The A-side presents two versions of the title track, "Eastern Promise," listed as Mix 1 and Mix 2 respectively. The AA-side follows the same format, offering "Losing U" in two mixes. No track durations are available for any of the four cuts.

The double-mix arrangement is the most immediately notable structural feature of this release. Presenting alternate versions of each composition rather than filling the record with distinct titles reflects a format that has long been practical within dance music, allowing producers to offer DJ-friendly variations tailored to different moments or contexts on a single record. Whether the mixes differ substantially in arrangement, tempo, or duration is not documented in the available information.

Liftin' Spirit Records, the issuing label, is a name associated with the harder end of UK breakbeat and electronic music, though specific claims about the label's catalog or history as they relate to this release are beyond what the confirmed facts here can support.

Origin Unknown is credited as the artist. No additional personnel information is confirmed for this release.

The EP sits within genres — breakbeat, electronic, and hardcore — that have maintained a dedicated vinyl-buying audience, though no sales figures, pressing details, or market information are available for this specific record.
