Paul Davidson (5)
Vinyl Roads EP

Listening notes

Paul Davidson (5) released the Vinyl Roads EP on Tango Recordings in 2001, catalogued as TANGO 013. The release is a two-track vinyl EP operating within the genres of deep house, electronic, and house music.

The EP presents a single composition in two forms. The A-side carries the original version of Vinyl Roads, while the B-side offers a reworked take titled Vinyl Roads (Maine Road Drama). The structure is straightforward — one track, two treatments — a format common to twelve-inch releases of this period, where alternate versions gave DJs and selectors different tools for use in a set. No track durations are documented in the release data.

Tango Recordings, identified here by catalog number TANGO 013, placed this release thirteenth in a numbered sequence, situating the Vinyl Roads EP within an ongoing body of output from the label at the time. The label name and sequential catalog numbering suggest an imprint with a defined release program, though the scope and reach of Tango Recordings falls outside the verified facts available for this entry.

The artist credit reads Paul Davidson (5), with the numeral indicating a disambiguation convention used to distinguish this artist from others sharing the same name in database records. No further biographical or personnel information is confirmed here.

As a vinyl format release from 2001, the EP sits within a period when twelve-inch singles remained a practical and widely used medium for house and electronic music distribution, particularly for DJ-oriented material. Beyond these documented details, claims regarding pressing specifics, reception, or the character of the music itself are not supported by the available information and are left for further research.
