Ramona Lisa
Arcadia

Listening notes

Ramona Lisa's Arcadia arrived on vinyl in 2023 through Perpetual Novice, catalog number RLAD2CVINYL. The release spans eleven tracks across two sides, placing it within a cluster of genres that includes abstract, ambient, electronic, experimental, leftfield, and synth-pop — a range that resists easy categorization on paper alone.

Side A opens with the title track before moving through "Backwards And Upwards," "Getaway Ride," "Avenues," and "Lady's Got Gills," closing on the unusually titled "Hissing Pipes At Dawn (They're Playing Our Song)." The parenthetical subtitle on that final A-side entry stands out among the tracklist as a small gesture toward something wry or self-aware, though what that amounts to in practice is a question the listener brings to the record. Side B begins with "Arcadia Reprise," suggesting a deliberate structural relationship with the opening track, before continuing through "Dominic," "Izzit True What They Tell Me," "Wings Of The Parapets," and closing on "I Love Our World."

The label name, Perpetual Novice, is worth noting in the context of this release. Whether it functions as an imprint serving a wider roster or operates specifically around Ramona Lisa's output, the name carries a certain self-deprecating or philosophical charge that sits in interesting proximity to a record catalogued under genres as varied as ambient and synth-pop.

Track durations are not listed for this release. Collectors and listeners researching the vinyl edition should verify timing and any additional pressing details through primary sources, as this draft reflects only confirmed catalog information.
