Rob Dougan
Clubbed To Death Vinyl 02

Listening notes

Rob Dougan's "Clubbed To Death Vinyl 02" was released in 2002 on Cheeky Records, carrying the catalog number 74321 94170 1. The release presents three tracks across two sides, fitting within the breakbeat and electronic genres that characterized Dougan's work during this period.

Side A opens with "Clubbed To Death (La Funk Mob Variation)," running six minutes and eight seconds, followed by "Darkside" at four minutes and eighteen seconds. The B-side is given over entirely to a single extended track, "Clubbed To Death (Tom Middleton Club Mix)," which stretches to eight minutes and twenty-two seconds. The sequencing places two distinct pieces on the A-side while reserving the full B-side for a remix of considerable length.

The release is notable for bringing together two separate reworkings of the title track alongside an original piece. La Funk Mob and Tom Middleton are credited with their respective variations, each offering a distinct approach to the source material within the same physical release. Tom Middleton's contribution, at over eight minutes, occupies the longest runtime on the record by a substantial margin.

Cheeky Records served as the releasing label, a British imprint active during this era. The 2002 release date places this record within the broader context of the label's output during that period.
