Sash!
Just Around The Hill (Vinyl 1)

Listening notes

Sash! released "Just Around The Hill" in 2000 on X-IT Records, catalogued as XLTD 0003 A. This release is identified as Vinyl 1, suggesting it was issued as part of a multi-part vinyl series. The record falls within the electronic, trance, and progressive trance genres, reflecting the broader stylistic territory Sash! occupied during that period of European dance music.

The single is pressed across two sides and carries four distinct mixes. The A-side opens with the Extended Dance Mix at 5:16, followed by the Extended Dance Radio Mix at 5:31. The B-side offers considerably longer running times, with the Doug Laurent 12" Vocal Mix clocking in at 8:06 and the Doug Laurent 12" Dub Mix at 7:17. The presence of two Doug Laurent remixes on the B-side gives that side a noticeably different character in terms of credited creative input, with Laurent providing both a vocal-oriented and a dub-oriented interpretation.

The two A-side mixes are closely matched in duration, separated by only fifteen seconds, which may be of interest to collectors or DJs assessing how the tracks were configured for different playback contexts. The B-side's combined runtime of over fifteen minutes makes it the more substantial half of the record by a considerable margin.

As a limited release on X-IT Records, the catalog number format suggests a deliberately sequenced release strategy on the part of the label. Beyond what the catalog data confirms, further details regarding personnel, production credits, or the broader commercial context of this release would require independent verification before inclusion.
