Schatrax
Vintage Vinyl 003

Listening notes

Schatrax's Vintage Vinyl 003, released in 2021 on the artist's self-titled label, is the third entry in what the catalog number SCHATVV03 confirms as an ongoing series. The release arrives as a vinyl twelve-inch housing three tracks across its two sides: "Mispent Years" occupies the A-side in its entirety, while the B-side carries both "A Question Of Timing" and "Slumberkings."

The self-titled Schatrax label's decision to press the series on vinyl places it within the broader context of electronic music's continued engagement with the format, though the specifics of that decision, and any intentions behind the Vintage Vinyl series name, remain outside what the available documentation confirms. What the catalog record does establish is a release sitting squarely within the electronic, house, and tech house genres, categories that have maintained a consistent relationship with vinyl as a distribution format.

The three tracks offer a modest but coherent running order. The A-side's single track gives "Mispent Years" room to function as a standalone statement, while the split B-side pairs "A Question Of Timing" with "Slumberkings," a configuration common to twelve-inch releases oriented toward club or home listening contexts. Track durations are not available in the current documentation and should be verified before publication.

The release sits under a self-operated imprint, which is a detail worth noting for collectors and researchers tracking independent electronic music infrastructure in the early 2020s, though any broader claims about the label's history or significance would require additional sourcing.
