Schatrax
Vintage Vinyl

Listening notes

Schatrax's 2008 release Vintage Vinyl arrived on the artist's own self-titled label, carrying the catalog number SCHAT VV02. The designation suggests this was the second entry in what the label framed as a Vintage Vinyl series, though no further details about the series at large are available here for confirmation.

The record is a three-track vinyl release spread across two sides. The A-side is given entirely to a single track, "Restless Nights," while the B-side carries two pieces: "Turntribal" and "The Almighty." No track durations are documented in the available data.

Genrically, the release sits across breaks, electronic, house, and tech house, a grouping that reflects the range of styles those working within UK and European independent dance music scenes were drawing on during that period. Whether the release leans more heavily on any one of those descriptors cannot be confirmed from the information at hand.

The catalog number SCHAT VV02 places this squarely within Schatrax's own imprint, indicating a degree of creative and commercial independence typical of artist-run labels operating in the vinyl dance music market during the late 2000s. Beyond that structural point, the available facts do not speak to distribution, pressing quantities, or how the release was received at the time.

DRAFT NOTE FOR FACT CHECKER: No personnel, recording credits, sound characteristics, or collector value have been stated, as none are present in the source data. The observation about UK and European independent dance scenes is contextual background and should be verified or removed if it cannot be confirmed as relevant to this specific release. The series inference from "VV02" is speculative and should be flagged.
