Listening notes

This 2014 cassette release on Accidental Guest Recordings brings together Screen Vinyl Image and Bloody Knives on a shared split, catalogued as ag-20. The release sits across genre categories that include electronic, industrial, rock, and shoegaze, a combination that positions it within a broader underground scene where those sounds have long found common ground.

The format is cassette, a physical medium that had by 2014 been experiencing renewed interest among independent and experimental artists and labels. Accidental Guest Recordings serves as the releasing imprint.

The tape is structured across two sides. Side A opens with "Void" and continues through "Edge Of Forever," "Great Beyond," "I'm Not," "Closing In," and "Drifting," accounting for six tracks. Side B mirrors that count with "Fader," "Servitude," "Breathing Walls," "Too Far Gone," "Empty Room," and "Never Was." Track durations are not documented in available data. The twelve titles across both sides carry a consistent thematic register, with language oriented around absence, distance, and limits — words like void, drifting, empty, and never functioning as recurring touchstones in the sequencing.

Whether the release is a true split with each act occupying a dedicated side, or whether the tracks are distributed differently between the two artists, is not confirmed by the available information and should be verified before publication. Similarly, personnel credits, recording details, and any associated edition information are outside what the current data can support.

For collectors and researchers, the catalog number ag-20 provides a reliable reference point within the Accidental Guest Recordings discography. This draft should be reviewed against primary sources before any claims about the release's context or reception are added.
