Seba
Nobody Knows / Implosion

Listening notes

Seba's two-track vinyl release on Secret Operations pairs "Nobody Knows" and "Implosion" under catalog number SECOPS028, issued in 2018. The release sits within the drum and bass and electronic genres, presented across two sides with a combined running time of just over thirteen minutes.

"Nobody Knows" occupies the A-side at six minutes and nineteen seconds, while "Implosion" fills the B-side at six minutes and forty-two seconds. The slightly longer B-side gives the record a modest asymmetry in its layout, though both tracks fall within a range typical of extended dance music cuts intended for DJ use or home listening.

Secret Operations, the label carrying this release, is identified by the SECOPS prefix in its catalog numbering system, with this entry appearing at the twenty-eighth position in that sequence. That placement situates the release within an ongoing body of output from the imprint rather than as an isolated or inaugural project.

Seba is an artist associated with drum and bass, a genre with roots in early 1990s UK electronic music that developed from jungle and rave culture. The two-genre classification applied to this release — drum and bass alongside the broader electronic category — reflects a common approach to cataloging music that belongs to a specific subgenre while also fitting within a wider stylistic umbrella.

The 2018 release date places this record in a period when vinyl continued to hold a meaningful position in drum and bass culture, with physical releases remaining a recognizable format within the scene alongside digital distribution.
