Shuya Okino
25th DJ Anniversary (Limited Vinyl)

Listening notes

Shuya Okino's 25th DJ Anniversary (Limited Vinyl) was released in 2014 on Especial Distribution under catalog number ESPD-023. The release falls within the disco and funk/soul genres and is presented across two twelve-inch records, designated EP One and EP Two.

EP One opens on its A-side with "Still In Love (Kyodai Remix)," running seven minutes and fifty-four seconds, followed on the B-side by "Deep Into Sunshine (DJ Kon & Whiskey Baron 'Nite Time' Remix)" at seven minutes and eleven seconds. EP Two continues with "Still In Love (Kyodai Dub)" on the C-side at five minutes and thirty-four seconds, and closes on the D-side with "Look Ahead (Kyoto Jazz Massive Recreated)" at six minutes and thirty-five seconds.

The release, as its title indicates, marks the occasion of Okino's twenty-fifth year as a DJ. The tracklist draws on remix and recreated versions of existing material, with contributions credited to Kyodai, DJ Kon and Whiskey Baron, and Kyoto Jazz Massive. The inclusion of a dub version of "Still In Love" alongside its Kyodai Remix suggests the release was structured to offer distinct treatments of the same source material across the two records.

The limited vinyl designation points to a pressing produced outside standard commercial distribution runs, consistent with the release coming through Especial Distribution, a label associated with Okino's output.
