Listening notes
Released in 2020 on Urban Records, Sido's "8 Kostbarkeiten - Studio Vinyl Box" (catalog number 0602435247076) is an eight-LP box set collecting studio material from across the German rapper's career. The title translates roughly as "8 Treasures," and the set's scope reflects that ambition: sides run from A through AF, encompassing well over one hundred individual tracks spread across the eight records.
The albums represented within the box are identified in the tracklist by unlisted header positions: "Maske X," "Ich," "Ich & Meine Maske," "Aggro Berlin," "30-11-80," "VI," "Das Goldene Album," and "Ich Und Keine Maske." These titles indicate the set draws on different phases of Sido's discography rather than presenting a single period or compilation.
The tracklist is catalogued under a notably broad range of genres — Hip Hop, Gangsta, Pop Rap, Pop, Spoken Word, and Non-Music — a spread that reflects the variety of material gathered here, which includes intros, skits, and spoken-word passages alongside full songs. Tracks such as "Mein Block," "Astronaut," "Mama Ist Stolz," and "30-11-80" appear among the listed titles, sitting alongside interstitial material like "Skit 1" through "Skit 4," "Dachboden Skit," and "Kreuzreim Skit."
For collectors or listeners seeking a vinyl edition of Sido's studio output gathered in one package, this box set represents the most comprehensive single release in that format currently documented under this catalog number. Fact checker: please verify album-to-LP assignments and confirm all album titles listed as headers are accurate.
