Silent Poets
For Nothing Remix (Limited Edition Vinyl Vol.1)

Listening notes

Silent Poets released *For Nothing Remix (Limited Edition Vinyl Vol.1)* on Idyllic Records in 1998, catalogued as TFJC-38217. The record is a remix compilation presented in vinyl format, drawing from the genres of breakbeat, downtempo, electronic, and hip hop.

The six-track release is divided across two sides. Side A opens with "Love Runs Faster (Extended Mix)," followed by "Get Ready (Alpha's Utah Mix)" and "Cherry Tree (40 Below Mix)." Side B carries "Get Ready (DJ Yas Remix)," "Don't Break The Silence (Little Tempo Remix)," and closes with "This Is Not An Instrumental (Nightmares On Wax Remix)." The inclusion of Nightmares On Wax among the remixers represents a pairing of two acts working within overlapping areas of downtempo and electronic music during the same period.

The compilation format — gathering reworkings of Silent Poets material under a single limited edition release — was a recognized approach within electronic music during the late 1990s, when remix records served as a practical vehicle for extending the life of source recordings and introducing them to different audiences. The "Vol.1" designation in the title suggests the release was conceived as part of a potential series, though what followed, if anything, is not addressed by the available documentation.

Track durations are not listed in the release data on hand, leaving that dimension of the record unverifiable at this stage.
