Silent Poets
For Nothing Remix (Limited Edition Vinyl Vol.2)

Listening notes

Released in 1998 on Idyllic Records, *For Nothing Remix (Limited Edition Vinyl Vol.2)* by Silent Poets carries the catalog number TFJC-38218 and brings together a set of remixes spanning downtempo, drum n bass, electronic, and hip hop. The release functions as a collaborative document, drawing in a range of contributors to rework material associated with the Japanese act.

The six-track program is split evenly across two sides. The A-side opens with a Coldcut remix of "Border," followed by 4 Hero's treatment of "This Is Not An Instrumental," and closes with a Silent Poets remix of "Light And Shade." The B-side presents a Yoshihiro Hanno remix of "Check L'Intellect" at B1, a Peshay remix of "Don't Break The Silence" at B2, and an Attica Blues remix of "Cherry Tree" rounding out the record at B3.

The roster of remixers situates the release within a specific moment in late-1990s electronic music, when acts like Coldcut, 4 Hero, Peshay, and Attica Blues were each operating prominently within overlapping scenes in the United Kingdom. Yoshihiro Hanno's inclusion points toward the international reach the project was navigating at the time.

As the second volume in what the title identifies as a limited edition series, the release suggests an organized effort to present remixed material across multiple installments, though the scope and sequencing of that series fall outside what the verified facts here can address further.

Track durations are not available in the source data for this draft and should be confirmed before publication.
