Skylevel 02

Listening notes

Skylevel 02, released in 2011 on the Skylevel label with catalog number SKYLEVEL02, is a three-track vinyl release operating within the disco and electronic genres. The record presents edited material across its two sides, with each track credited as a specific edit rather than an original composition.

The A-side carries "Black Is The Dub (Nebraska Edit)," occupying the full first side of the record. The B-side is divided between two tracks: "Cousins For Hire (Skylevel Edit)" at B1 and "Missus Hudu (Skylevel Edit)" at B2. The parenthetical edit credits are worth noting as a point of transparency — the Nebraska Edit designation on the A-side and the Skylevel Edit attributions on both B-side tracks suggest the release is built around reworked source material rather than wholly original productions, though the nature and origin of that source material is not documented here.

As the catalog number SKYLEVEL02 indicates, this record is the second release on the Skylevel imprint, placing it early in the label's output. The self-titled label name mirroring the artist name suggests a close or identical relationship between the two, consistent with a practice common in independent dance music releases where artists operate their own imprints.

Duration information for all three tracks is unconfirmed and has been omitted accordingly. The record's placement within the disco and electronic genres positions it broadly within a tradition of edited dance music on vinyl, a format that has historically served club-oriented listening contexts, though no specific claims about use or reception are made here.

This is an unreviewed draft. All details should be verified against physical copies, original release documentation, and additional discographic sources before publication.
