Spyro Gyra
Vinyl Tap

Listening notes

Spyro Gyra's *Vinyl Tap*, released in 2019 on Amherst Records (catalog number AR-2001-2), is a CD release catalogued under the genres of Fusion and Jazz. The album presents nine tracks, several of which share titles with well-known songs from rock, pop, and jazz repertoires.

The tracklist opens with "Secret Agent Mash" and moves through titles including "Sunshine Of Your Love," associated with Cream; "Can't Find My Way Home," associated with Blind Faith; "What A Fool Believes," associated with the Doobie Brothers; "The Cisco Kid," associated with War; "You've Got To Hide Your Love Away," associated with the Beatles; "Tempted," associated with Squeeze; and "Stolen Moments," associated with Oliver Nelson. The set closes with "Carry On." No track durations are documented in the available data.

The release appears on Amherst Records, a label with longstanding ties to Spyro Gyra, under a catalog number suggesting it may be positioned as a notable or inaugural entry in a catalog sequence, though no additional label documentation is available to confirm that reading. The album's title, *Vinyl Tap*, and its apparent selection of material associated with earlier decades suggest a covers-oriented or retrospective premise, though the exact nature of each arrangement — and whether any tracks are originals — is not confirmed by the available data.

No personnel, recording location, production credits, or pressing details are documented in the source material for this entry. Researchers and editors should treat track title associations with named source songs as inferred from common knowledge of those titles rather than confirmed by liner notes or official documentation.
