To Rococo Rot
Taken From Vinyl

Listening notes

To Rococo Rot's "Taken From Vinyl" was released in 2006 on Gusstaff Records under catalog number GRAM 0603. The release is formatted as a CD and is catalogued under the genres of Electronic, Experimental, IDM, and Leftfield.

The disc collects twelve audio tracks alongside a video for "Telema." The tracklist opens with "Mit Dir In Der Gegend" at six minutes and fifty-six seconds, the longest piece on the record. What follows is a sequence of varied durations: "Autonachmittag" runs five minutes and one second, "Schon Sehr Viel Telefoniert" three minutes and eighteen seconds, "Jackie's Dream" three minutes and fifty-eight seconds, and "She Understands The Dynamics" four minutes and fifty-two seconds. The shortest track on the release is "Rebound" at two minutes and seventeen seconds. "Telema Langs" and "Telema" appear as consecutive entries, clocking in at two minutes and fifty-eight seconds and three minutes and forty-two seconds respectively. The remaining tracks — "Days," "Hotel Morgen," "Days Between Stations," and "Gelb" — each fall within a narrow band between three minutes and forty-one seconds and four minutes and sixteen seconds.

The tracklist itself is notably mixed between German-language titles, such as "Autonachmittag," "Schon Sehr Viel Telefoniert," and "Gelb," and English-language titles, a detail collectors and cataloguers may find worth noting when cross-referencing against other To Rococo Rot releases from the same period.

The inclusion of a "Telema" video makes this a multimedia release, which may be a relevant distinction for those researching the format history of the group's catalog. The total running time of the audio portion, based on the listed track durations, is approximately fifty-five minutes and thirteen seconds.
