Various
100% 90's Vol. 3 (Vinyl 1)

Listening notes

This record is the first vinyl disc from the third volume of the 100% 90's compilation series, released in 2005 on the Spanish label Blanco Y Negro under catalog number MX 1588 N. As a various artists release, it draws together six tracks spread across two sides, with the genres listed spanning Electronic, Euro House, Hard Trance, Industrial, and Makina — a range that points to the stylistically broad character of the underground dance scene the series aimed to document.

Side A opens with "G:Rillos (Rotterdam Leisure) (Mix 1)" at 5:07, followed by "Barraca Destroy (La Musica Infinita)" at 6:38, and closes with "Eins, Zwei, Polizei (Gendarmerie Mix)" at 5:17. Side B carries "Metalhammer (Club Mix)" at 5:27, "Bring On The Night (Club Mix)" at 5:38, and the longest cut on the disc, "Brainchild," running 7:24. The total runtime across both sides comes to just under 36 minutes.

The inclusion of Makina as a listed genre is worth noting for collectors approaching this from a regional perspective. Makina is closely associated with the Valencia area of Spain, and its presence here alongside harder European styles reflects the way Blanco Y Negro positioned compilations of this type during the mid-2000s. The label itself was a significant force in Spanish electronic music releases throughout the period the series covers.

Because this is only the first vinyl disc of a multi-disc set, collectors should be aware that it represents a partial portion of the full compilation. Whether accompanied by additional discs when encountered on the secondary market is a practical consideration worth verifying before purchase.
