100% 90's Vol. 3 (Vinyl 2)

Listening notes

Released in 2005 on Blanco Y Negro (catalog number MX 1588R N), this vinyl pressing is the second disc from the third volume of the label's 100% 90's compilation series. The record spans seven tracks across two sides, drawing from a cluster of genres that defined a particular moment in European club culture: Electronic, Euro House, Hard Trance, Italodance, Techno, and Trance.

Side A opens with "Passion" at six minutes and one second, followed by "Lost In Love (Sysex Style Mix)" at six minutes and eight seconds, making it the longest cut on the record. The side closes with "Poem Without Words," running five minutes and thirty-nine seconds. The track titles on this side lean toward the romantic and atmospheric language common to the genres represented.

Side B carries four tracks and runs slightly shorter on average. "To Love" leads at four minutes and fifty-three seconds, followed by "Toffee" at four minutes and fifty-four seconds. "El Sueño (Original 1994 Mix)" arrives at four minutes and thirty-eight seconds, its subtitle placing it as a period piece from a decade prior to this release. The disc closes with "XTC Vol. 3 (Immaginazione Version)" at four minutes and seventeen seconds, the briefest entry on the record.

As a compilation issued by Blanco Y Negro, a Spanish label with a documented catalog of dance-oriented releases, this pressing situates itself within the broader project of archiving 1990s club music on vinyl in the mid-2000s. The mix and version subtitles on several tracks suggest these are specific edits rather than straightforward album versions, though the precise origins of those versions are not detailed in the available documentation.
