12" Collectors Vinyl Box Italo Disco

Listening notes

Released in 2020, the 12" Collectors Vinyl Box Italo Disco is a ZYX Music box set issued under catalog number MAXI BOX LP23. Spanning multiple twelve-inch records and categorized under the genres of Electronic, Italo-Disco, and Pop, the set brings together material from five acts: Laserdance, Ocean Wings, Doctor's Cat, Eddy Huntington, and Body Power.

Each record in the set is structured around a single artist's material and follows the extended twelve-inch format typical of the genre's original release conventions. The Laserdance disc presents two versions of "Humanoid Invasion" — a Dance Mix running 7:15 and a Space Mix at 6:09, the latter credited as a Digital Remix on the record header. Ocean Wings contributes "Loving In The Snow" in both a Vocal version (6:18) and an Instrumental (5:00). Doctor's Cat appears with "Feel The Drive," offering a Vocal Extended take at 6:26 alongside a 5:53 Instrumental. Eddy Huntington's contribution is "Up & Down," with a main version clocking in at 6:33 and an Instrumental at 5:00.

The Body Power disc devoted to "Dancing In The Tears" is the most version-heavy in the set, offering four distinct mixes across both sides. These include a Vocal Version (5:10), a Dub Version (3:57), a Longdrink Rmx (6:14), and a Flemming Dalum Remix (6:43).

ZYX Music, a German label with a documented history of releasing and reissuing Italo-Disco material, is the issuing party. The box set format and catalog designation suggest it was positioned as a collector-oriented release. No additional verified information about pressing specifications, limitations, or supplementary materials is available for this draft.
