5th Anniversary Vinyl Sampler

Listening notes

Released in 2012 on Claremont 56, the 5th Anniversary Vinyl Sampler (catalog number C56042) marks the label's fifth year in operation with a four-track vinyl release spanning the disco and electronic genres.

The release presents four tracks across its sides. Side A carries "Hvala (Version Idjut By The Idjut Boys)," a version credited to the Idjut Boys. Side B offers "The Traveller," while Side C presents "Travel (Felix Dickinson Passport Control Mix)," a mix attributed to Felix Dickinson. Side D closes the record with "L& G Pschedelic (Wes Coats Holy Sa To Dub Mix)," credited to Wes Coats.

As the title indicates, the sampler was issued to coincide with the fifth anniversary of Claremont 56, a label that has operated within the disco and electronic space. Samplers of this kind typically serve as a label showcase, gathering artists and remixers associated with a label's catalog into a single release, though the specific curatorial intent behind the track selection here is not documented in the available information.

The release carries the Claremont 56 house style across its genres, with named remixers — the Idjut Boys, Felix Dickinson, and Wes Coats — appearing on three of the four sides. Track durations are not listed in the available data.
