80s Electro Tracks - Vinyl Edition Volume 2

Listening notes

Released in 2021 on ZYX Music, "80s Electro Tracks - Vinyl Edition Volume 2" (catalog number ZYX 55930-1) is a compilation drawing from the electro, electronic, and synth-pop genres. The release follows an implied series format, as the "Volume 2" designation suggests a preceding installment under the same banner from the same label.

The eight-track program is spread across two sides. Side A opens with a remix of "Our Darkness" at 5:20 before moving into "Technology (B1 Mix)" at 6:40, the longest track on the side. "Visions And Dreams" runs 6:47 and closes out the longer entries, with "Like Puppets (Extended Version)" rounding out Side A at 5:26. Side B leads with "The Great Commandment (Original US 12'' Remix)" at 6:13, a designation that points to the track having a documented American twelve-inch release history. "Computer Music (Hardware Mix)" follows at 5:45, then "Bad News (Album Version)" at 5:06, and "The Art Of Fashion (D.J. Mix)" closes the record at 5:39.

Several tracks carry version designations — remix, extended, hardware mix, DJ mix, album version — that indicate the compilation draws on specific alternate edits rather than standard single or album releases. The total runtime across eight tracks exceeds forty-six minutes.

The compilation is credited to various artists, with no individual performer attributions available in the verified data. Fact checker should confirm artist credits for each track, verify the original release periods of the underlying recordings to confirm their claimed 1980s provenance, and establish whether a Volume 1 exists under the same series title on ZYX Music.
