80s Techno Tracks - Vinyl Edition 1

Listening notes

Released by ZYX Music in 2021 under catalog number ZYX 55931-1, "80s Techno Tracks - Vinyl Edition 1" is a various artists compilation issued on vinyl. The release draws together eight tracks spanning a notably broad range of electronic subgenres, with the label listing Acid House, EBM, Electro, Electronic, Industrial, New Beat, and Techno among its genre classifications.

The tracklist is spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Out Of Control (The Belgium Mix)" at seven minutes and five seconds, followed by "Computer Music (Hardware Mix)" at five minutes and forty-five seconds, "The Latest Idea" at six minutes and ten seconds, and "This Is A Sound (New Beat Mix)" at five minutes and thirty-seven seconds. Side B leads with "Rejekto (Layout Mix)," the longest track on the record at seven minutes and thirty-five seconds, followed by "Los Niños Del Parque (Corrida-Mix)" at five minutes and twenty seconds, "Sepuku Beat (12'' Mix)" at five minutes and seven seconds, and "Body Control (Out Of Control Mix)" closing the side at six minutes and forty-five seconds.

The mix designations attached to several titles — among them a Belgium Mix, a New Beat Mix, a Layout Mix, a Corrida-Mix, and a 12'' Mix — suggest that alternate or extended versions were selected for inclusion, though the origins and original release contexts of these recordings are not documented in the available information.

The genre spread reflected in the label's own classifications points to the compilation drawing from several distinct strands of late 1980s electronic music, a period that saw considerable movement between club-oriented and more industrial-influenced sounds. Beyond those classifications and the tracklist itself, the available facts do not support further characterization of the release.
