80s Techno Tracks - Vinyl Edition 2

Listening notes

ZYX Music released 80s Techno Tracks - Vinyl Edition 2 (catalog number ZYX 55986-1) in 2023, the second vinyl installment in the label's series drawing from the electronic music of that decade. The compilation spans several genre categories — Electronic, Industrial, New Beat, Synth-pop, and Techno — reflecting the stylistic range that characterized the European club underground of the 1980s.

The record is spread across two sides. Side A opens with "Generator 7/8 (Kalinan-Mix)" at 6:18, followed by "New York (Razormaid Mix)" at 6:26, "Body To Body (An Afternoon Of Aggression)" at 4:08, and "Telk Mee (Wild Version)" at 4:42. Side B leads with the longest track on the release, "Hypnopedia (The Hypnotic Mix)" at 7:50, continuing with "Cold Stomper" at 6:21, "Machine" at 4:42, and closing with "Isn't It Crazy (Agsnøek Mix)" at 5:27. The presence of named mixes — Razormaid, Kalinan, Hypnotic, Agsnøek — suggests the compilation draws on remix or alternate versions of the source material rather than straightforward single edits, though the track-level attribution is not included in available data.

ZYX Music, a German label with a long history in licensing and compiling electronic and dance catalog material, issued this as a vinyl format release. The decision to present the material on vinyl in 2023 positions the compilation within the broader current market for reissued and curated electronic music on the format. Beyond what the catalog listing confirms, personnel, mastering details, and pressing information remain unverified and are not addressed here.
