90s Electro Tracks - Vinyl Edition 1

Listening notes

Released in 2024 on ZYX Music, *90s Electro Tracks - Vinyl Edition 1* (catalog number ZYX 54033-1) is a vinyl compilation drawing from a range of electronic subgenres including acid, breakbeat, Euro house, house, progressive house, progressive trance, techno, and trance. The release presents itself as a curated look back at stylistic territory associated with 1990s club music, issued at a point when interest in that era's dance music has remained a consistent presence in reissue and retrospective culture.

The single record spreads seven tracks across two sides. Side A opens with "Bla Bla Bla (Abbentenza Mix)" at 6:51, followed by "Open Your Heart (Club Mix)" at 7:21, and closes with a Blank & Jones remix of "Iguana" running just over eight minutes. Side B carries four tracks: "Tell Me, Tell Me (Under Pressure Mix)," "Under The Sea (Tea Mix)," "U Got 2 Know (Maxizone Remix)," and "Die Schallmauer (Mach I)," which closes the record at 7:26.

The track lengths suggest material formatted for extended play rather than radio edits, consistent with dance floor use. The inclusion of named mixes and remixers — among them Blank & Jones on the "Iguana" remix — indicates the compilation draws on specific variant versions rather than original album cuts, though the originating artists are not listed in the available data.

ZYX Music, a German label with a long history in electronic and dance music licensing, is the issuing party. This appears to be the first volume in a projected series, as suggested by the "Edition 1" designation in the title. No further volumes have been confirmed in the available information.
