A-Sides Vol. 11 Vinyl: 7 / 7

Listening notes

Drumcode's A-Sides series has run long enough to become one of the more dependable formats in techno's release calendar, and volume eleven reaches its seventh installment with catalog number DC271.7. Released in 2023, this vinyl edition carries four tracks across two sides, fitting the compilation's established pattern of gathering electronic and techno material under a single imprint identity.

Side A opens with "Razor" at six minutes and fifty-three seconds, followed by "Pulsation" at six minutes and forty-two seconds. Side B leads with "Dream," the longest cut here at seven minutes and five seconds, and closes with "Ship Went Down" at five minutes and forty-six seconds. The four tracks total just over twenty-six minutes of playing time, a runtime consistent with a standard twelve-inch format divided across two sides.

The A-Sides series has historically functioned as a vehicle for Drumcode to present tracks from artists within or adjacent to its roster, though the specific contributors to this particular volume are not listed in the available documentation. That absence is worth noting for any collector or researcher working from this record, as personnel details would typically inform how this installment sits relative to others in the sequence.

What the catalog number and year do confirm is that this pressing belongs to a substantial and ongoing archival project from one of techno's more prominent labels. For anyone building a complete run of the A-Sides vinyl series, DC271.7 represents the final chapter of volume eleven. Whether that completeness carries practical or personal significance will depend on the collector, but the structural fact of it — a numbered series reaching its seventh discrete pressing within a single volume — is at minimum a point of reference worth recording.
