Best Of 5 Years: Vinyl-Masterpiece.Com

Listening notes

Released in 2009 on PTG Records (catalog number PTG 34068), Best Of 5 Years: Vinyl-Masterpiece.Com is a two-disc CD compilation drawing from the genres of disco, electronic, funk, soul, and synth-pop. The release was issued to mark five years of the Vinyl-Masterpiece.Com platform, and its track selection reflects the site's evident focus on dance-oriented music from those overlapping stylistic territories.

Spread across twenty-eight tracks plus two designated bonus tracks, the set runs generously long. Several entries are presented in extended or remixed form, including "Get Down Saturday Night (Special Extended Version)," "B-Boys (Special Extended Club Version)," and "Meet The Man (Extended Mix)." Two re-edits credited to Frankie Rodriquez appear on the first disc — "Plane Love (Frankie Rodriquez Airborne Re-Edit)" at seven minutes and thirteen seconds, and "Prime Time (Frankie Rodriquez Serenity Re-Edit)" at six minutes and fifty-five seconds — with a third Rodriquez re-edit, "Take Me To The Top (F Rodriquez 1985 Re-Edit)," closing out the main body of disc two. The final track on disc two, "Love You More," carries an edit credit shared between Danny Krivit and Frankie Rodriquez, running seven minutes and twenty-eight seconds. Disc one also includes "Peanut Butter (Special Mix By Larry Levan)" at six minutes and five seconds.

Individual track durations across both discs frequently exceed five and six minutes, consistent with the extended formats common to the genres represented. The tracklist does not attribute individual artists to specific recordings within the verified data available for this entry.

This draft requires fact-checker review before publication. Artist attributions per track, pressing details, and background on the Vinyl-Masterpiece.Com platform have not been verified and are not addressed here.
