Various
Black Vinyl - 30 Years Vol.1

Listening notes

Black Vinyl Records marks three decades of operation with this 2026 various artists release, catalogued as BVR12030. The record collects four tracks across two sides, drawing from the label's catalog in the deep house, electronic, and house genres.

Side A opens with "My Old Friend Alan," presented here in an original mix that has been remastered by Crates Motel in 2022. The second track on Side A is "Roots," appearing in a vocal rework credited to David Harness. Side B leads with "Fever Tension" in a vocal mix, also carrying a Crates Motel 2022 remaster credit. The side closes with "Rising Into Joy," listed as an original mix.

The presence of two Crates Motel remasters indicates that at least some of the underlying recordings predate 2022, though the original recording dates are not confirmed here. David Harness is credited specifically as the author of the "Roots" rework, making him the one explicitly named contributor on this release based on available information.

As a thirtieth anniversary collection, the release positions itself as a retrospective document of the label's history in its corner of the house music world. Whether additional volumes are planned is suggested by the "Vol. 1" designation in the title, though no further releases in the series have been confirmed at the time this draft was prepared.

Duration information for individual tracks is not available. Further details regarding pressing specifications, contributing artists beyond those noted, and original release dates for the underlying recordings should be confirmed before publication.
