Dance Train Classics Vinyl 11

Listening notes

Dance Train Classics Vinyl 11 is a three-track vinyl release issued in 2001 on the 541 label, carrying catalog number 541416 500569. Falling under the electronic and house genres, it presents itself as part of a numbered series, suggesting it was one installment in a broader compilation sequence operating under the Dance Train Classics banner.

The record contains three tracks spread across two sides. The A-side opens with a Todd Terry remix of "Missing," running at four minutes and fifty-five seconds, followed by "Can't Stop" in a DMR Zone Mix at six minutes and three seconds. The B-side carries a single track, "Remember Me," presented in a Sure Is Pure twelve-inch mix at seven minutes and eight seconds. The presence of named remixes and mix designations — Todd Terry, DMR Zone, and Sure Is Pure — indicates that the release was oriented toward remix culture as it existed within the house and electronic scenes of that period, though the original artists behind each track are not specified in the available information.

At a total runtime that leans toward extended versions of each cut, the record appears formatted with dance floor utility in mind, a common characteristic of twelve-inch singles and compilation vinyl targeted at DJs during this era. The numbering in the series title, specifically "Vinyl 11," implies that at minimum ten prior volumes existed, though details of those releases are outside the scope of what can be confirmed here.
