Dance Train Classics Vinyl 12

Listening notes

Dance Train Classics Vinyl 12 is a various artists release issued in 2001 on the 541 label under catalog number 541416 500570. The twelve-inch vinyl presents three tracks drawn from the electronic music spectrum, with the release catalogued across the genres of breakbeat, electronic, house, and trance.

The A-side is occupied entirely by "You're Not Alone" in the Paul Oakenfold and Osborne Mix, running ten minutes and six seconds. The track fills the side at a length consistent with extended club-oriented presentations. The B-side carries two tracks: "Insomnia" in the Monster Mix at eight minutes and thirty-two seconds, followed by "Groove Is In The Heart" in the Meeting Of The Minds Mix at five minutes and eleven seconds, bringing the B-side to a combined running time of approximately thirteen and a half minutes.

The release sits within what was a well-populated format at the turn of the millennium, with labels regularly compiling recognizable electronic titles onto twelve-inch vinyl for DJ and collector markets. The Dance Train series, as suggested by the numbered title, appears to have been a recurring imprint output, with this entry designated as volume twelve. The multi-genre tagging across breakbeat, house, trance, and electronic reflects the cross-genre programming common to compilation releases of this period, which often drew from several adjacent club music styles rather than adhering strictly to one scene.

No additional personnel, pressing, or production details are available from the verified record for this release.
