Dance Train Classics Vinyl 18

Listening notes

Dance Train Classics Vinyl 18 is a three-track various artists release issued in 2001 on the 541 label under catalog number 541416 500673. The record is formatted as a standard vinyl release and sits within the electronic and house genres.

The A-side is occupied entirely by a single extended track, "Sugar Is Sweeter (Armand's Drum 'N' Bass Mix)," which runs to 8 minutes and 31 seconds. The length of the cut gives the A-side a focused, single-track presentation, a format that allows the mix room to develop across its full running time. The B-side carries two tracks: "Break 4 Love (Caught In The Act Mix)" at 5 minutes and 27 seconds, followed by "Rock To The Beat" at 4 minutes and 12 seconds, bringing the total runtime of the B-side to just under ten minutes.

The release belongs to the Dance Train Classics Vinyl series, with this installment numbered 18, indicating it was part of an ongoing sequence. The series title situates the record within a curatorial project concerned with dance music of a certain vintage, framing the tracks as material worth revisiting or preserving in that context. Whether the series drew from a specific television program, radio broadcast, or was conceived independently as a compilation imprint is not confirmed by the available information and is left for verification.

All three track titles carry mix designations in their credited forms, which is a common feature of dance vinyl releases from this period and reflects standard practice in the genre for distinguishing between available versions of a given track.
