Dance Train Classics Vinyl 19

Listening notes

Dance Train Classics Vinyl 19 is a various artists release issued in 2001 on the 541 label under catalog number 541416 500674. The record is formatted as a standard vinyl release and falls within the electronic and house genres.

The release carries three tracks spread across its two sides. The A side is given over entirely to "Be Yourself (And No-One Else) (Vocal Mix)," which runs nine minutes and ten seconds. The B side opens with "Finally (12" Choice Mix)" at seven minutes and one second, followed by "Get With U (Morales Def Mix)" at five minutes and thirty-four seconds. The mix designations on each track — vocal mix, twelve-inch choice mix, and Morales def mix — indicate that the release presents extended or remixed versions rather than original album edits, a format consistent with dance-oriented twelve-inch vinyl of the period.

As the nineteenth entry in the Dance Train Classics series, the record belongs to a numbered compilation sequence, suggesting the Dance Train Classics name was an ongoing vehicle for house and electronic material released through the 541 label. The series title implies a retrospective or curated function, though the specific editorial criteria used to assemble the series cannot be confirmed from available information.

The three tracks together account for just under twenty-two minutes of music across the two sides. The extended running times on the A side and the opening B-side track reflect conventions common to club-formatted vinyl releases of the era, where extended mixes were standard for DJ use.
