Dance Train Classics Vinyl 8

Listening notes

Dance Train Classics Vinyl 8 is a various artists release issued in 2000 on the 541 label under catalog number 541416 500468. The record is formatted as a standard vinyl release and sits within the genres of acid, electronic, house, and trance.

The tracklist spans three cuts across two sides. Side A is given entirely to "Salva Mea (Epic Mix)," running eleven minutes and forty-nine seconds, a duration that reflects the extended format common to dance twelve-inches of the period. Side B opens with "I Am Ready (Remix Version)" at eight minutes and fifty-three seconds, followed by "Higher State Of Consciousness (Tweekin' Acid Funk)" at six minutes and fifteen seconds. The parenthetical subtitles on both the Side A and Side B2 tracks indicate that these are specific mixes rather than original or album versions, which is consistent with the compilation and remix-oriented nature of dance vinyl releases from this era.

The release sits within a numbered series, identified here as volume eight of the Dance Train Classics line, suggesting it was part of a sequential catalogue of similarly formatted records. The combination of genres listed across the release points to a selection drawing from distinct but related corners of the electronic dance music spectrum active in the late 1990s and at the turn of the millennium.

As an unreviewed draft, the above reflects only what can be confirmed from the available catalog data. Details regarding personnel, production credits, pressing origins, or any reception the release may have received have not been verified and are not included here.
