Dance Train Classics Vinyl 9

Listening notes

Dance Train Classics Vinyl 9 is a three-track vinyl release issued in 2000 on the 541 label, carrying the catalog number 541416 500469. The release sits at the intersection of several electronic music styles, cataloged under breakbeat, electronic, house, and tech house.

The record's A-side opens with "Ultra Flava," running six minutes and thirteen seconds, followed by "Southside" at four minutes and seventeen seconds. The B-side is occupied entirely by a single extended cut: a version of "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" identified as the Dave Angel Nightmare Mix, clocking in at seven minutes and twenty seconds.

That B-side track is notable for its title alone. "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" is a song most widely associated with Eurythmics, and the Dave Angel Nightmare Mix represents one of many dance-oriented reworkings the track attracted over the years. Dave Angel is a name recognized within techno and electronic music circles, and the Nightmare Mix designation is reflected in the record's tech house classification. Whether this release represents a licensed reworking or carries any other specific release context is not confirmed by the available information and should be verified independently.

As part of the Dance Train Classics series, this pressing appears to function as a DJ-oriented release, consistent with the extended track durations across all three selections. The series naming convention suggests a compilation or series context, though the specifics of that series are not confirmed here.

This is an unreviewed draft. Personnel, pressing details, and licensing information require independent verification before publication.
