D.J.'s On Vinyl Vol. 6

Listening notes

Released in 1994 on New Generation Records, *D.J.'s On Vinyl Vol. 6* (catalog number NUG 0012) is the sixth installment in the label's ongoing compilation series. The record brings together six tracks spread across two sides, drawing from a range of genres that includes breaks, disco, electronic, garage house, and house.

Side A opens with "I've Got My Man," followed by "Your Love," and closes with "Soul Orchestra Vibe." Side B runs through "Go-Ho," "Groove Mix," and "Skaddy Ska." The tracklist titles alone suggest a varied but consistent focus on dance-floor-oriented material, with "Soul Orchestra Vibe" and "Groove Mix" nodding toward the funk and soul influences that ran through much of the house and garage house output of the early 1990s, while "Skaddy Ska" hints at a willingness to push against genre boundaries within a single side.

As a volume in a numbered series, the release situates itself within a broader project by New Generation Records to document or collect DJ-centered material in vinyl form — a format choice that would have aligned with how this music was primarily consumed and performed at the time.

Track durations are not currently documented for this release, and personnel details, recording information, and pressing specifics remain unverified at this stage. Researchers or collectors with additional documentation are encouraged to contribute.
