DJ's On Vinyl Vol 7

Listening notes

DJ's On Vinyl Vol 7 is a various artists compilation released in 1999 on New Generation Records, carrying the catalog number NGR 027. Issued on vinyl, it is the seventh installment in the label's DJ's On Vinyl series and works across the electronic, garage house, and house genres.

The release is spread across four sides, making it a double vinyl package. The A-side opens with two versions of "Give Me Love," listed as Mix 1 and Mix 2, before closing with "Higher (Carlos Santos Dub Mix)." The B-side follows with "Pillow Talk" and a second treatment of "Higher," this one titled "The Higher Luxury Mix," suggesting that "Higher" was considered significant enough to the project to warrant placement on two separate sides in distinct forms. The C-side carries "Stay With Me" and "Anybody," while the D-side rounds out the record with four tracks: "Toss My Salad," "Dancin," and "Groove Me."

No track durations are documented in the available information, and personnel credits, production details, and individual artist attributions are not confirmed in the verified data for this release. The same applies to recording origins and pressing details.

As the seventh volume in its series, the record situates itself within a format — the DJ-oriented various artists vinyl compilation — that was a practical and commercial fixture of late-1990s dance music distribution, used by labels to bring together multiple tracks suited for club play. New Generation Records' continued use of the NGR catalog numbering sequence, reaching at least NGR 027 by 1999, indicates an active release schedule during the period.
