Drumcode Presents: Elevate - Vinyl: 1 / 3

Listening notes

Drumcode Presents: Elevate arrived in 2023 as a multi-part vinyl series from the Swedish techno institution Drumcode, with this first volume — catalogued as DC277.1 — serving as the opening installment of a three-record set. The label, long associated with the harder, driving end of the electronic music spectrum, issued the series across the Electronic and Techno genres.

This first record carries four tracks across its two sides. The A-side opens with "City Boy," running six minutes and four seconds, followed by "Amsterdam Rave" at five minutes and twenty-eight seconds. The B-side leads with "Let Me Take You There," the longest track on the record at six minutes and eighteen seconds, and closes with "Freaking Out" at five minutes and twenty-one seconds. The total runtime of the four tracks comes to just over twenty-three minutes of music.

As a compilation release credited to Various Artists, Elevate fits within Drumcode's established practice of gathering material under the label's umbrella rather than presenting a single artist project. The three-volume vinyl format — of which DC277.1 is the first part — suggests the series was designed to be collected as a complete set, a presentation suited to the format and to listeners who engage with Drumcode's output in physical media.

Beyond what the catalog record confirms, the specifics of who contributed individual tracks, how the series was received, and how it sits within the broader Drumcode discography remain outside the scope of the verified information available here. A fact checker should confirm artist credits per track and any additional release details before publication.
