Electro Anual (Vinyl 4)

Listening notes

Electro Anual (Vinyl 4) is a four-track compilation released by Vendetta Records in 2007 under catalog number VENMX 851R. Issued on vinyl, the release sits within the electro, electronic, and house genres and forms part of what its title suggests is an ongoing series, this entry being the fourth installment.

The A-side opens with "Perfect (Exceeder) (Club Mix)" at six minutes and thirty-seven seconds, followed by "Yeah Yeah (D Ramirez Instrumental)," which runs six minutes and fifty-five seconds. The B-side leads with "Rej (Original)," the longest track on the record at eight minutes and three seconds, and closes with "Heart Of Glass (Jesse Garcia Remix)" at six minutes and forty-seven seconds. The total runtime across all four tracks comes to approximately twenty-eight minutes and twenty-two seconds.

The tracklist draws on a mix of original material and remixed versions. Two of the four tracks are identified by their mix designations — the Club Mix and D Ramirez Instrumental on the A-side, and the Jesse Garcia Remix closing the B-side — while "Rej" is credited as an original. The presence of a Blondie song title in the B-side closer, "Heart Of Glass," indicates that track is a reworking of previously existing material, here attributed to the Jesse Garcia Remix version.

As is common with DJ-oriented vinyl releases of this type, individual track runtimes are weighted toward extended play, with no track falling below six and a half minutes, a practical consideration for dance floor use. The release was issued under Vendetta Records, a label with activity in the electronic music market during this period.
