Electro House 2 (Vinyl 1)

Listening notes

Vendetta Records released Electro House 2 (Vinyl 1) in 2006 under catalog number VENMX 740 (N), the first of what the title implies is a multi-volume, multi-disc compilation series. The release sits at the intersection of electro, electronic, and house music, reflecting the cross-genre energy that characterized much of the mid-2000s club landscape.

The vinyl presents four tracks across two sides. Side A opens with "Bleeep!" at 8 minutes and 38 seconds, followed by "Click" at 7 minutes and 56 seconds. Side AA carries "Beautiful World (M-Factor Full Vocal Mix)" at 8 minutes and 7 seconds and closes with "Jet-Lag Slave" at 6 minutes and 39 seconds. The total runtime across the four tracks runs just over 31 minutes, a runtime consistent with extended DJ-oriented edits designed for club use rather than radio. The presence of a named mix — the M-Factor Full Vocal Mix of "Beautiful World" — suggests at least that track existed in alternate versions, though details about those versions are not available here.

The side labeling is worth noting for catalogers: the second side is designated AA rather than B, a convention occasionally used on dance twelve-inches and compilations of this era, and collectors or database contributors should take care to reflect that accurately.

As Vinyl 1 of the Electro House 2 series, this release would logically be accompanied by additional vinyl volumes, though the contents and details of those are outside the scope of this entry.
