Electro Trance 2008 - Vinyl Sampler 2

Listening notes

Released in 2008 on Barcelona Urban Sound, Electro Trance 2008 - Vinyl Sampler 2 carries the catalog number BUS222EP and presents four tracks across two sides of a vinyl record. The release falls under the genres of electro, electronic, and progressive house, positioning it as part of the broader sampler series the label was producing during that period.

The black side opens with "Everytime (Funkagenda Mix)," running at 8 minutes and 14 seconds, followed by "Recycle (Club Mix)" at 7 minutes and 16 seconds. Both tracks occupy the extended durations typical of dance floor-oriented vinyl releases, where room for a DJ to blend and transition is a practical consideration of the format.

The white side carries "On The Line (Oxia Dub)" at 6 minutes and 56 seconds, with Oxia credited in the mix title. Closing the release is "Safe From Harm (Simon & Shaker Remix)" at 9 minutes and 2 seconds, the longest track on the record and the only one to exceed nine minutes. Simon & Shaker are credited in that track's title as remixers. Funkagenda is similarly credited by name in the first track's title.

The combined runtime of the four tracks totals just over 31 minutes, distributed across the two sides in a format well suited to club and DJ use. Barcelona Urban Sound, the issuing label, is identified by its city of origin in its name, suggesting a Spanish base of operations.

As a sampler, this release functions as a promotional or introductory document for the label's output within the electro and progressive house spaces during 2008. The specific artists performing the original compositions underlying each remix or mix are not confirmed in the available information and have been omitted accordingly.
