Final Fantasy XIV Vinyl LP Box Vol. 2

Listening notes

Released in 2023 on Square Enix Music, Final Fantasy XIV Vinyl LP Box Vol. 2 (catalog number SQEX-11057-61) is a box set collecting music from five major chapters of the long-running online role-playing game across five individual vinyl LPs. Each disc corresponds to a distinct era of the game: A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker, with each designated Vol. 2 to distinguish the contents from a prior box set in the series.

The tracklists across the five records draw from a range of in-game contexts. The A Realm Reborn disc includes titles such as "Saltswept," "The Maker's Ruin," and "Rise of the White Raven," while the Heavensward LP features tracks including "Night in the Brume," "Voidal Manifest," and "Scale and Steel." The Stormblood record offers titles spanning both the game's Eastern and Western thematic settings, among them "Amatsu Kaze," "Gates of the Moon," and "Liberty or Death." The Shadowbringers disc includes "Force Your Way," "Blinding Indigo," and "Promises to Keep," and the Endwalker LP closes the set with selections such as "Hic Svnt Leones," "Of Countless Stars," and "Dynamis."

In total, the box set spans more than sixty individual track positions across its five records, organized under the Stage & Screen and Video Game Music genres. As the second volume in an ongoing vinyl series from Square Enix Music, the release continues the label's effort to bring the game's soundtrack catalogue to a physical analog format for collectors and listeners interested in the music outside of its original interactive context.
