Flying Vinyl: August 2017

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl: August 2017 arrived as Issue 27 of the Flying Vinyl subscription series, released in 2017 on the Flying Vinyl (2) label. The box set compiles ten tracks across multiple vinyl records, spanning a range of genres that includes alternative rock, electronic, experimental, indie pop, indie rock, pop, and rock — a spread that reflects the curatorial breadth the series appears to have maintained across its run of issues.

The release is formatted as a multi-record box set, with each track occupying its own side, labeled sequentially from A through J. The tracklist opens with "Strobe Lights" and "Glasgow Kisses" before moving into a two-part piece, "Starving Hysterical Naked Part 1" and "Starving Hysterical Naked Part 2," the only tracks on the set to extend across consecutive sides in this way. The remaining selections — "Young & Lonesome," "She Looks Like A Dreamer," "Blitz," "1990," "Feel Better," and "Do Tell" — complete the sequence. No track durations are documented for this release.

As a various artists compilation issued through a subscription model, the set carries catalog number Issue 27, situating it within a numbered sequence that implies a regular release schedule. The genre classifications on record suggest the August 2017 issue cast a wide net in terms of artist selection, touching on both guitar-oriented and electronic-leaning material within a single collection.

Artist credits, recording details, and personnel are not documented in the available information and have been omitted from this draft. A fact checker should verify individual track artists, confirm the exact number and configuration of records within the box set, and establish whether additional documentation exists for this issue's specific contents or accompanying materials.
