Flying Vinyl: January 2018

Listening notes

Flying Vinyl: January 2018 arrives as Issue 32 from Flying Vinyl (2), released in 2018 as a vinyl box set. The release compiles ten tracks across multiple records, with each track occupying its own side, running from side A through side J.

The format itself is the defining feature of this release. Rather than grouping multiple tracks per side in the conventional manner, each of the ten tracks receives a dedicated side, spread across what the format listing describes as multiple vinyl records packaged as a box set. The titles in sequence are "Palace (Single Version)," "Ultraviolet," "Do You Love Enough," "Help Me," "Be Your Man," "Dead Dreamers," "Falling In Time," "Body Shock," "Another Guy," and "Say One More Time."

The release is catalogued under a notably broad range of genres, including Blues, Downtempo, Electronic, Funk / Soul, Hip Hop, Indie Pop, Pop, and Rock. With ten tracks and eight listed genre categories, the compilation appears designed to survey a wide stylistic range rather than to present a thematically unified listening experience. Artist credits are listed as Various, which is consistent with the multi-genre, multi-artist compilation format that Flying Vinyl operated under as a subscription-based service delivering new music on vinyl.

No track durations are listed in the available data. Personnel, label credits, and recording details are not documented in the information at hand and have been omitted from this draft accordingly. Collectors and researchers seeking fuller documentation of individual track credits or pressing specifications should consult supplementary sources. This is an unreviewed draft and should be verified before publication.
